Sheriff's Office Partners with TRSD for Auction this Saturday

posted May 18, 2017, 11:15 AM by Shelly Quick
The Josephine County Sheriff's Office has partnered with the Three Rivers School District in an effort to raise funds for the district and reduce inventory in the agency's evidence facility.  The Sheriff's Office has obtained a large number of items over time.  These items come from lost or stolen articles and evidence seizures.
Sheriff Dave Daniel said his staff tries to locate the owners of property received and return it to them, but their efforts are not always successful.  As a result, the Sheriff's Office accrues numerous items in its evidence facility.  Daniel said it is unethical for the Sheriff's Office to receive direct benefit from these items as many of them are seized.  However, he said the Sheriff's Office can donate these items to nonprofit entities related to governmental organizations and he feels the youth in our community are worthy of that donation.

Booster Clubs from the Three Rivers School District have organized an auction to be held through Rogue Auctioneers located at 202 South Redwood Highway.  A preview of the items is scheduled for Friday, May 19th, from 10 AM to 5 PM.

The auction will begin at 9 AM on Saturday, May 20th
